The journey . . .
Create a custom plan for your end-of-life journey, or learn how to provide support for a loved one experiencing end-of-life. Every client has a unique situation and I work with each individual and family in order to facilitate to their needs and wishes for the end-of-life process. Is there a favorite place in nature that you wish to visit before you pass? Do you want to pass away in an outdoor environment like your backyard or garden? Is it important for you to connect with nature from an indoor setting? Who do you want to be present while you are in the transition process? Let's work together and find what options will best meet your needs, wishes, and budget. All services are on an accessibility price tier, which you can learn more about here.
End-of-Life Doula Facilitation
In this consultation we will introduce ourselves to one another and discuss any specific goals or needs in end-of-life care unique to your situation. I will explain how the accessibility price tier works and all of the different package options. Please come with all of your questions!
This initial planning session is about two hours long. We will go over advance care planning, life review, vigil planning, and legacy trip or project planning. This is when we will formulate the plan for how, where, and who you want to be present when you pass. We'll discuss what's been important to you in your life - family, school, work, as well as what you want to be remembered for. We'll also go over resources for putting together any necessary legal documents.
Pre-Vigil & Post-Vigil Check-in Meetings
Depending on where you or your loved one are in the process, we may have one or more of these hour-long check-ins. These meetings are for us to go over any changes to the plans we've created together, address concerns that arise, as well as offer tools that may help with anxiety or anticipatory grief such as breath work, meditation, and guided visualization. These sessions are included in several of the packages outlined below or can be booked separately. This service is also available to anyone experiencing a recent loss.
Every situation is unique and there isn't always as much time as we'd like to plan and prepare. Sometimes you just need someone who can sit vigil during the transition process. This option is here for those whom have suddenly found themselves caring for a loved one at end-of-life, are in need of support, and don't have time to prepare a vigil plan; alternatively, if we agreed on one of the vigil packages below and the client or family needs more support than what was included, additional hours can be booked here. This offering provides a 4-hour block of time, during which I will be available for vigil support and guidance. Additional 4-hour blocks can be purchased as needed.
While my dad was in the hospital and our family was consulting with the Palliative Care team, my dad turned on a movie called The Bucket List...maybe you've heard of it? It's about two men who create a list of things they want to do before they kick the bucket. If you've received a terminal diagnosis, even if you aren't at the end of your life, and have an outdoor excursion that you want to make before you pass - this is for you. Whether it's a hike to your favorite local spot to watch the sunset, one last family camping trip, or an international jungle safari like Sir Terry Pratchett - I'm happy to facilitate and/or help your family plan and facilitate that experience for you. These excursions are fully customized and therefore vary in pricing. Please schedule a planning session!
